Vp globe in brass was launched to celebrate the 90th anniversary of verner panton’s birth – a tribute to the man, his unique design language and his enduring appeal. Verpan, in dialogue with his widow marianne panton, chose a brass finish as an alternative to aluminium as that metal’s warm tones create a decorative interplay with globe’s flashes of blue and red. This special vp globe consists of a transparent acrylic dome containing five reflectors – some spray-lacquered in red and blue – hung decoratively on thin brass chains.

Unlit, this functional light fixture looks a bit like an enormous soap bubble, while when it’s lit it resembles a floating ufo. Pantons ambition with vp globe was to create a lamp that would catch the eye and hold the attention of a room whether it hung alone or in a group. This remarkable pendant is ideal in an entry, over a dining table, or in a long hallway.
