The timeless bl9 wall lamp in black brass/porcelain was designed in 1930 by robert dudley best, a british designer heavily influenced by the bauhaus school. It has been in continuous production from the very beginning and has remained true to its industrial roots and original design. The bestlite lamp was first used in the royal air force departments due to its great functionality.

The architects journal, named bestlite as the first evidence of bauhaus in the uk and this brought the lamp to the attention of the design conscious. Public demand for bestlite lamps soon followed and when winston churchill personally chose the bestlite bl1 table lamp for his desk, bestlites iconic status was secured. The bestlite design is close to its industrial roots and true to its original design.

The lamps are on permanent display at both the victoria & albert museum and the design museum in london. The bestlite lamp has been loved by architects, designers and design enthusiasts throughout its long history and has become a modern classic to this day. Obs: this lamp contains genuine bone china, which means that the porcelain on the lamp is created from bone ash. This means that there may be small imperfections in the surfaces, as bone china is an organic material – but also that the lamp is an animal product. – enhance your home with scandinavian elegance and modern design.
