Bau Nature Pendant Lamp – Small – Norman Copenhagen
Bau Nature is a sculptural hanging lamp designed by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt, who has combined composition and geometric shapes in a unique and creative design. Bau is a decorative lamp that suits both minimalistic interiors and more daring houses. The design is based on interlocking geometric circles, sticking out in all directions. Bau has an immediate pattern that is broken up by the discs’ sizes and off-centre linkages, making the lamp living and organic in its expression.
Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt explains: “Decoration does not need to be restricted to objects you hang on the wall, but can also form an integral part of more functional objects, such as a table or a lamp. This creates new and exciting opportunities in furnishing. When you move your position in relation to Bau, the tight geometric lines are broken. The sort of experience I want people to have is to see the Bau lamp and wonder what it looks like from the other side. It must appeal to peoples’ sense of curiosity.”

This lamp is absolutely beautiful and I am thrilled with the end result. The disc at the bottom helps to diffuse the light and creates a nice shadow effect, making it feel like a cloud. While the assembly process was somewhat challenging, the manual was helpful and with careful reading and attention to detail, we were able to put it together. However, be prepared for some difficulty as the recesses in the slices are quite narrow and require a good amount of force to fit them together. It’s also worth noting that the small version of the lamp is quite heavy, so it’s best to have two people assist with hanging it. Overall, a beautiful and unique piece, but be prepared for a bit of a challenge during the assembly process.

This lamp is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was hoping for based on the pictures. The only downside is that some of the pieces were a bit difficult to fit together and it was easy to accidentally crack them. However, the instructions for assembly were clear and easy to follow. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and am considering buying a larger size also
